This 4” decorative keepsake box is a pattern called Uneven Nine Patch or Glorified Nine Patch. The box is veneered in figured Cherry, and the design is fumed Oak and curly Ash.
The little dot on the side is a veneer inlay and helps to orient the lift-off top for perfect fit and so the grain patterns are matched for each side.
The box is 4" square, 3 1/4" high. The inside is cherry, with black velvet bottom and black felt on the outside bottom.
The bottom of this box, when open, is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" wide inside, and 1 1/2" deep. The lid is 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" inside, and 5/8" deep. When closed, the height of the interior would be 2 1/8".
